My Place Residence North is a large-scale development — two apartment and commercial buildings (B+G+8F, approx. 30,000 sqm) in Pipera (Ilfov County), part of the “My Place” series. Here PPAE’s role was precise and narrow: the developer already had a project of its own — plans, structure, functions — and returned to PPAE for one single thing, the one that gives the series its identity: the facade. PPAE acted as Facade Designer.

Challenges

The task was not to design the buildings, but to make them belong. The “My Place” visual signature, Art Deco-inspired, had been created by PPAE on an earlier project, MOPH — a recognisable aesthetic that became the developer’s visual brand. The challenge at My Place Residence North: to transpose the same image onto much larger volumes, so that the new buildings read naturally as part of the same family, over a project already defined by the investor.

Solutions

PPAE translated the “My Place” visual signature onto the scale of this project — from B+G+5F and approx. 12,000 sqm at MOPH, to B+G+8F and approx. 30,000 sqm here. Applied onto the investor’s existing project, the facade keeps the recognisable language of the series, but recalibrated for bodies of a different scale, so as not to lose its coherence at large dimensions. The result: two buildings that join the “My Place” family through their very exterior image.

Result

For the developer, the practical confirmation of the investment in identity: a visual signature created once can be reapplied coherently to new, larger developments, preserving brand recognition. For PPAE, the role of the author entrusted with precisely this signature — called back to extend it onto a project of a different scale, separate from the general design.
