Feasibility study for a new furniture factory at Gherghita, in Prahova county, with a built area of approximately 19,000 sqm. The beneficiary, Prestige Mob — a company with its existing headquarters and production at Balotesti — initiated the project as part of a strategy to relocate a significant part of production to a site eligible for European funding, in a disadvantaged area with higher co-financing percentages.

Challenges

The typology is a standard one for the furniture industry: a monolithic hall with a linear flow — raw-material receiving, production, finished-product storage, delivery — complemented by staff amenities, technical spaces and a gatehouse. The real challenge was not one of concept but of schedule: the rapid delivery of a complete feasibility-study package, eligible for submission to European funding — a coherent spatial-volumetric balance, compliant urban-planning framing, a file for approvals, a realistic sizing of the investment. The deadline was dictated by the funding line's schedule, not by the usual pace of design.

Result

The feasibility-study package was delivered within the required deadline and submitted for funding. The project was approved for European funding, but the beneficiary did not manage to secure its own co-financing share, and the investment stopped at this phase. For PPAE, the collaboration with Prestige Mob remains in the portfolio as an example of the ability to rapidly deliver eligible feasibility-study packages, for beneficiaries with growth strategies dependent on strict schedules.
