The office and laboratory building of the Romcolor production complex at Copăceni. Romcolor 2000 is the most important masterbatch producer in Romania — colour concentrates and additives for plastics — part of the Global Colors group. The office body, G+2F, is the administrative and research face of a complex that also includes the production hall and the warehouse.

Context and solution

For a company whose field is colour and recipe development, the office building had to house not only the administration but also the laboratory at the heart of a masterbatch producer’s activity: colour matching, recipe development, quality control. The C1 body integrates these functions — reception and laboratory on the ground floor, offices on the upper floors, management and a conference room on the top level — in a compact volume, set as the representative front of the complex, in direct connection with production. The facade, of light siding-type sheet panels, is white, with red accents in the plane of the windows — a sober reference to the identity of a colour producer.
