Unirea Medical Center / Regina Maria | Three fit-outs at the birth of the brand — Hatmanul Arbore, Euroclinic Floreasca, Brodina
Bucharest, Sector 1, three locations | fit-outs in existing buildings | ~5,500sqm | General Designer | 2011-2012 | in use

Three medical fit-outs delivered within 12 months for the Regina Maria private healthcare network — at the moment of the brand's birth, after the rebrand from Centrul Medical Unirea (CMU) and the integration of the Euroclinic Hospital acquisition in 2011. The three locations — Hatmanul Arbore (neighborhood medical center), Euroclinic Floreasca (reorganized hospital) and Brodina (maternity with an IVF component) — represented three distinct typologies, each with its own role in the new network architecture, developed by PPAE over a cumulative area of approximately 5,500 sqm.

Challenges

The project coincided with a strategic moment for the beneficiary: the rebranding of the network and the integration of a newly acquired hospital. The three fit-outs had to advance in parallel, on tight construction deadlines, each with its own constraints — an existing building with a preserved structure for Hatmanul Arbore, a hospital in operation for Euroclinic Floreasca (repartitioning without interrupting activity), and a profound transformation for the authorization of a super-specialized unit at Brodina (maternal-fetal medicine + operating block + IVF).

Solutions

Hatmanul Arbore — neighborhood medical center (B+G+F, ~2,130 sqm). A full fit-out in an existing building: basement for reception and imaging investigations (MRI, X-ray), ground floor for pharmacy, herbal store and adult/child offices, upper floor for additional offices, CMU Natural and physiotherapy. The usual typology of a neighborhood center — short flows, a residential atmosphere, the network's front line.

Euroclinic Floreasca — a hospital reorganized at the moment of integration into the network. Partial repartitioning in the basement, on the ground floor and the mezzanine, to integrate the freshly acquired hospital into the new Regina Maria operational structure. Moving the reception toward the main access, outlining a dedicated Admissions Office, setting up two new medical offices in the space of the former reception, expanding the pharmacy and fitting out new spaces for the Intensive Care unit (ICU). All interventions with the hospital in operation, without interrupting medical activity.

Brodina — maternity with a maternal-fetal and IVF component. Extensive changes on three floors (1, 2, 3) to obtain the operating authorization as a maternal-fetal medicine hospital: existing patient rooms converted into medical offices, the creation of a minor-procedures room with its own patient room and toilet, outlining the spaces for the operating block, day surgery, sample collection, neonatal care. A highly specialized medical field — women and newborns up to 1 year old, invasive and imaging prenatal diagnosis, genetic diagnosis, infertility treatment through IVF techniques — with specific regulatory requirements.

Result

For Regina Maria, three functional locations in 12 months, developed in parallel with the network's rebranding and the integration of the Euroclinic acquisition — a key moment in the history of the largest private medical services company in Romania. For PPAE, a dense collaboration with an operator that was simultaneously building the growth strategy of a national brand — confirmation of the ability to deliver typologically different medical fit-outs, in parallel, without loss of quality or deadlines.
